Vermiculite is a mineral with a laminated structure that is applied mixed with the substrate or on the surface to maintain the temperature and humidity during germination.

Vermiculite is used in hydroponic systems and with the use of this mineral you will be able to maintain the humidity of the substrate in a more optimal way.

The amount of vermiculite that you add to the substrate should never exceed 5% of the total of the pot, because if you exceed this amount, it is possible that problems of excess humidity will appear in the substrate.

Why should we use vermiculite?

The action of vermiculite is very similar to that of expanded clay but vermiculite retains more water, as it can retain up to 5 times its weight.
